The world’s largest ice festival is ongoing in Harbin, northeast China. It features thousands of massive ice sculptures.

The Harbin International Ice and Snow festival is the largest ice festival of its kind in the world. It is on from December to February every year and It is known for elaborate sculptures that recreate famous landmarks, historical figures, animals and many other ideas.

According to Newsday, about 18 million people attended the ice festival, last year, bringing in over $4billion in revenue for the city. With thousands of sculptures on display, this year, the festival is set to attract record number of tourists. Beyond the ice sculpture competitions, the festival also features winter swimming, snow biking and much more.

A number of display this year is themed around the One Belt One road foreign policy, an ambitious international trade and infrastructure initiative of the Chinese government.
